Privacy Policy
The Clear Byte is an independent publication. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we handle and what we do not.
1. What this website collects
Nothing. This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no tracking pixels, and has no login, comment form or newsletter signup.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard technical request data such as IP address and browser type in order to deliver pages and protect against abuse. That processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not receive, store or analyse it.
2. Automated publishing and platform APIs
We use software that publishes our own content to our own social media accounts through the official APIs of TikTok, Meta (Instagram and Facebook) and YouTube.
What our software does
- Authenticates to the platforms using credentials for accounts we own and operate.
- Uploads media files we produced and publishes them as posts on those accounts.
- Reads aggregate performance figures for our own posts, such as view and engagement counts.
What our software does not do
- It does not request, collect, store or process personal data belonging to any other user.
- It does not access other people's accounts, contacts, messages, followers or private content.
- It offers no service to third parties. Nobody else authorises our application, and it acts on no account but our own.
- It does not sell, share, rent or transfer data to anyone.
Media files awaiting publication are stored temporarily on our own infrastructure and are automatically deleted 30 days after upload. They contain only content we produced.
3. When you interact with us on social platforms
If you follow, like or comment on our accounts, that interaction happens on the platform and is governed by that platform's privacy policy, not by this one. We see only what any account owner sees, and we do not export, compile or store profiles of the people who interact with us.
4. If you email us
If you write to contact@theclearbyte.com, we keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and to record any correction you asked for. We do not add you to any mailing list.
5. Content disclosure
Our production process uses AI tools for illustration, narration and editing assistance. Editorial decisions, factual verification and final review are ours. Where a video uses a synthetic voice, we say so in the description.
6. Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
7. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data other than emails you choose to send us, there is usually nothing to access, correct or delete. If you have emailed us and want that message removed, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
